no candle. Sterno gel for windy moments...thats when you'll actually need it and you aint getting a candle lit in 10 mph breeze, much less a 20 MPH Squall and blowing rain.

Some form of carb-boosting snacks (1-2 hour energy spike) for those ridge pushes that your guide says is "just up the hill a bit more", but your energy has shat out hundreds of of yards ago...

a shemagh or warm and comfy neck wrap for the long waits.

boots that fit and are broken in a year more ago. Comfort for your feet is the key. You'll be walking miles in the Brooks right now due to low numbers on the flip of a significant die off a few years back. Guides are having to work miles for a legal op.

limit your pack to <50 lbs for everything, period.

Don't over train at your age. consistency and energy output control is key to prevent pre-hunt injury and stamina building for the actual hunt. Cardio by walking miles, not with pack but with intent on keeping cardio rates high for 2-3 hours each session.

Surrender to the possibility of no success and working hard to get to that disappointment. When it comes, you'll have earned that shit.
