I decided to break down and buy my 6yr old a crossbow for Christmas. I wanted to get her started turkey and deer hunting and thought that it would be less scary and no recoil compared to a shotgun or rifle. After countless hours of practicing I decided she was ready for her first turkey hunt.
Friday morning on her first ever hunt where she would be pulling the trigger, she was able to put a great shot on a big Rio long beard. It was so gratifying watching the big tom do exactly what he needed to do for her to get a shot and for all of her practice to payoff. Couldn't be more proud of her, she just turned 6 in March.
