...please design and sell a universal sidearm holster attachment that can mount to your pack belts and quickly transferred to the hunter after dropping his pack for the final stalk. Chest rigs suck when you carry binos. Stalking without a sidearm in brown bear country is unwise. You guys figure out brilliant design solutions all the time...the Gunbearer proves it. Now help us out with our sidearms won't ya?

I don’t usually hunt where I have much concern about grizzly run-ins and my pack is usually within arms reach on day hunts so I would just be happy with a good way to attach a leather or nylon crossdraw holster to the belt of my tactical frame.

I carried N frame and X frame Smith & Wessons for years with my holster attached to the 2” webbing that went over the padded area of the waistbelts on my Late Season and my Longhunter. I had to switch to a chest rig when I got the tactical frame/Woodsman bag I used last fall. My bino pouch did interfere with my draw from the chest rig, so I would like to put my revolver back on my belt.

Can’t remember the name brand of the holster it’s a cheap one that I keep my S&W 40 in and here it is in my Kifaru bikini frame and belt, it has a clip that just fits through the belt webbing and if I put the bag down then put the holster clip on my pant beltB0697151-CE98-4490-8D2D-555089F4DA63.jpegFDC3F46A-DBE0-4220-9DCD-AFD98C925C79.jpeg87544D71-1139-4869-B37D-17919A1AD2BC.jpegF0CE677F-56DB-49E6-ADEC-4E2E921D58EB.jpeg

Numerous holster companies have already done it. A quality kydex holster+the correct attachment=problem solved. I use a KT Mech for my Glock 40, works like a charm.

See for me it's the opposite. I moved the binos. They stay in my hand then go in the belt pouch if I need both hands. If I need to stash them temporarily mine ride on the packstrap under my arm very well. Both items are essential to me but the firearm takes precedent

Jimmy Tarps makes an awesome adapter for most any holster. Very affordable.

Thanks! I am going to give Jimmy Tarps a call. Their Double PALS Adapter with the middle attachment pieces removed (or left off in the first place) looks like it would work perfect for my need.

I have the BlackHawk Serpa with strike platform and quick disconnect and it seems to run nicely. Can pop it off the pack and onto a paddle within seconds.

I've tried those PALS adaptors and similar mounts that hold the holster....but when they aren't tight to your belt...they flop around too much.

If you really have to draw quick...that holster has to be solid for a smooth draw.

I agree. Imo that Blackhawk strike platform that I posted above is super tight and secure. I was honestly very impressed with how secure it was after setting it up.

I need to find it but there was a guy that did a write up about what he required from a a holster and he made a good point about the Sherpa. That retention lever while functional has a major flaw. All it would take is for some mud or debris getting lodged in it and you would no longer have access to your firearm. It made me think. Bear or bad actor hits you and drives you firearm first into the dirt and some damn twig ends up in it. Unlikely maybe, but Murphy is a a$$hole.....other requirements were completely covering the trigger and no open ends where dirt etc could enter the barrel during an altercation.

Have you checked out G Code and RTI hangers, paddle holsters etc? Kydex, cleans easy and can be transferred easily like you’re looking for.

I understand your experience. But, I wouldn’t blame the maker as much as would those that made the belt. In the Kifaru’s I’ve had this on, it is all a man can do to get it to lock in it fits so tight. One belt on a kifaru frame I had the pals matrix was so inconsistent, that nothing held in the matrix well.

As you can see this is tight. Tight enough to keep a 9mm with 17 in the mag and one in the pipe tight and easy to draw fast. With 124 grain billets. Holds a 45 with 10 just as well
