Has anyone found a good solution for dehydrating and rehydrating meat for meals in the field without using bread crumbs? I know the bread helps it rehydrate easier but was wondering if there were other options.
I have done roast venison and gravy, and shredded venison with chili cilantro sauce for tacos. Neither included bread crumbs, they just take a strong half hour to reconstitute.

I've done a bunch with breadcrumbs and it works well. I'm curious why you might want to not go with the tried and true? Not nit-picking, just curious if there are some constraints you are trying to work around.
