I like my Sitka gear, but there's a ton of options out there for lightweight rain gear that's about a third of the price. Sitka still doesn't make a rain gear piece that comes close to the Takur gear from Kryptek. It's comical watching how fast water runs off that stuff.

I havent had the dewpoint paints. But my dewpoint jacket has seen a ton of use in about every season and it's been Soild. I would really need to see nb the weight difference between these pants and the cloudburst.

As much as I like the Kryptek Takur, the Dewpoint is still my favorite on mountain hunts due to weight and packability. I’m excited for this re-release...especially in “Pyrite”!

I still have the version in pyrite that has the side pockets that go all the way up as pit vents. Agree its fantastic as packable jacket

Oh yeah, packability the Dew Point packs way smaller than the Takur. Breathability and everything else goes to the Takur. I've never owned any GoreTex product that I haven't gotten clammy and sweaty in. I've already got a grey paclite jacket, so I'm covered on both fronts. I think the pricing on the new Dew Point looks pretty ambitious even by Sitka standards. $399 for a lightweight rain jacket is gonna be a tough pill to swallow for some people.

Ordered...Will be curious what improvements are made over the previous version and if it competes with the Takurs of the world for keeping me dry.
