Diaphragm call ?

How do you know if you need to trim your calls a little. What is it supposed to fit like. I have a couple that I seem to blow better than others, but I don't know if some need trimming.

I only trim them if I feel like I gag a lot during calling or when getting them in place. I’m no expert caller though.

99% of my diaphragm experience is with turkey calls so take it for what it’s worth, but unless u have a tiny palet I wouldn’t mess with trimming it until you’ve tried and tried and tried to figure out where you need it to be in your mouth. This is all assuming your new at diaphragm calls. If you have to trim it and get used to that you’ll be having to trim every one you ever get. And trim it the same every time.
