Just got done building this bag. I based it off the 44 mag for zipper layout but just did stretch side pockets instead of zippered pockets. I also put a stretchy pocket on the back like an exo.

On the top I added some 3 bar sliders that slide into common loops and when unclipped, opens up extra storage. Kinda a spin off the stone glacier bags.

and here it's expanded

It has 2 stretch pockets inside and a zippered pouch.

I'm really liking the ease of access with the u zipper. It compresses down fairly good but I might add some compression straps near the top.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with it but there's some stitch lines that aren't the greatest.

Looks awesome! What kind of time/cost ended up going into the finished product for you? It looks like something that would be fun to try one day.

So this one went a lot better than I had anticipated as far as time I had in it. I probably have 15 or so hours in it (couple nights a week and weekends) The last one(and first) I did took more like 25 so that's good. Materials cost probably $40 or so with shipping. I've started buying stuff in bulk so I already had the stuff around. Fabric(500d cordura off ebay) was $12 a yard and I used about 1 yard, webbing was approx $5, buckles probably $15-20. If you want more info feel free to pm me.

You can get 500d even cheaper off ebay if you buy 2nds. Its less than half price i think. I just ordered another 5 yards and it was $23 total with shipping. That is what i always buy and ive never noticed a blemish. This most recent piece is very nice quality.

Really awesome!

Can you tell us about the frame, total package weight, and estimated capacity?

Frame is a kifaru duplex Tactical 26", bag only weighs 1lb 12 oz, total package is 6 lb even. Don't really know the size, I'd guess 4-4300 ci give or take. The expanded part is probably 6-800

Very nice! It's so inspirational to see what people can do. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Very nice, that's impressive. I'd be interested in watching a "how to" video on making this. Do you know or recommend any?
