Do you carry a spare key?

I've got a new truck and have to sort all this out. Chipped keys, FOB's etc.

I knew a guy that wrapped a key in paper and Gorilla tapes it to a flat spot up on the frame. Key wouldn't have glue on it if needed and the wire would not break etc. Then he always had a key on his house key ring in his pocket and of course his key and FOB. After all that prep he never needed the keys. That guy sold his truck and has a new one.

I've been running around for 3 months without a spare on me or the truck...ki d of getting to me now. Must remedy situation....

Wrap in tape and zip tie under the truck.

i have learned my lesson about spare keys from living with 3 females. They all have locked or lost more keys in one year than i have my whole life. Remedy is all vehicles now have keys taped and weird underneath and everyone trained how to use them. Same for my truck when i go hunting.

I picked up a new Fob today for $18. My diesel mechanic is going to program it for me tomorrow for $50. I now have a dedicated hidden truck Fob for under $70 that will hopefully keep me from doing this again.
