Well since hunting season is over for most of us I thought i would share our duck season last year do try to soothe the pain a bit. We had a great season and were coved up in birds pretty much all year. The Pacific Flyway was hot hot hot. I do love back country hunting, but its fairly new to me. Ive been duck hunting my whole life

Heres some pics

Finally after a few months of just beating the bread eaters, it finnally started to get a bit chilly and we could go after seaducks. Got quite a few good buddies some trophies this year. I am orginally from back east so i grew up shooting divers on the great lakes. I love hunting seaducks on the chuck. Other the scoters, IMO not many of them are edible. But they sure are beautiful. So we dont shoot any sea ducks (other then scoters) unless they are what we feel are wall quality.

Good work. Looks like a great season! My season started off terrific nothing but greenheads the first few weeks but after we got done shooting up the local birds the hunting never turned on for us. It was real spotty the whole second half of the season which is usually best part.

Had a pretty good season. Definitely not as many mallards and wigeon around as years prior, but we made the most of it. I think the difference this year was hunting smarter rather than just hunting harder. I don't have any pics of my piles but I do have one that's pretty special.

First band!

Nice band!! From what ive heard the washington guys did well, but thats as far south as i know (im in BC). its been unreal warm here all year with only a few days below freezing the entire season. and it didnt last long. We are still COVERED in birds but the season finished on the 18th. Maybe they didnt make it that far down and short stopped?

Some good looking birds brother. I love me some duck hunting. I'm super jealous of the very liberal limits your guys get in the pacific flyway. We get a lowly 4 mallards! I did ok this year, no bands to speak of but had the best season yet. We were covered in birds during hurricane sandy. 30ft waves on saginaw bay had the birds inland and we were busting em up. I'll have to root up some pics to post. Glad to see another duck hunter on the backcountry hunting forum! I love me some backcountry elk and muley hunting, but duck hunting can't be beat!

Congrats on the band
