dumb google earth question

so i'm physically in colorado now and want to use google earth to look for water, etc. but colo is all colored out with no topography or actual satellite views showing. other states i can see satellite views. what am i doing wrong? thanks!

disregard, think it was picking up a map i created on the colo website... when i deleted that i was able to see satellite view.
