Dump 15 WY moose points

I've decided to help everyone else out in WY moose and throw away my 15 points! Not much chance of catching up to a good unit, and odds of ever drawing are slim. Not interested in a cow hunt either. I got lucky and drew a Colorado Moose last year and tagged my Shiras.

I can't imagine flying from AK to WY for moose. I get the Shiras being checked off the list I suppose, but it seems like going from Disneyland to Chuck E Cheese.

Going to book a Shiras hunt and go hunt. Did the same with sheep in WY as well…going to book that hunt too.

I already dumped 10 WY sheep points, and Drew a CO bighorn- I guess Colorado has been good to me! Alaska is just a given though on all the otc tags!!

Yes, just go hunt! I guess there is a place for playing the point games, but you have to be fully aware of your strategy and exit plan

I dumped all of my points 20 years ago when I saw where things were headed. I've killed 3 moose in Canada since then, besides going to Africa and South America several times each.

I can book shiras in southern BC and and I can book a big horn hunt in Canada as well. No sense tossing good money and yet bad in WY.

Who knows maybe I draw the moose tag in one of the three other states I apply for shires moose in or draw a sheep tag in 7 other states I apply in.

Shiras in UT too. The Shiras in BC count for SCI but not B&C or P&Y I believe. They are definitely Shiras in SE BC through per a DNA study I read.

Tricky right, I saw the futility of WY sheep and stopped applying. I then got lucky on the CO draw and got a bighorn tag without the WY none sense.

Futility? You could of drawn a bull moose tag in WY. And it wouldn’t of took much of a bull to top your Colorado bull.

You should rethink not hunting cows…I shot my first one here in Canada this year…it is so much better eating than those big bulls I was getting earlier….

WY is going to 90/10 and the Task Force is currently discussing going to a random Bonus point system. You're 15 points are currently worthless as you'll never be in the PP side of the draw where they're used, however, if/when the Bonus point system is implemented in 2025 they would certainly be of value.
