Durston X Mid Stove Jack

Has anyone put a stove jack in an x mid? Is that a dumb idea?

I don't think that is a dumb idea at all! If it's the 2p version there is certainly space for 1 person + stove, and I'd bet it comes in way cheaper than a silex.

Bear Paw Designs or a number of other cottage tent makers would likely do it for you. It should work fine. I assume you would do it on the fly potion only and use it in a floorless manner. (there are some with floored tents that will do a cut out in the floor for the stove but I wouldn't recommend it with this kind of material). Better off just putting the stove jack in the fly portion of the tent.
