Early or late?

Looking at doing a archery mule deer/ elk combo in the more popular elk hunting units. Is it more beneficial to go early or late in the archery season. I have a flexible schedule. Just looking for hunting pressure info for the units near the Denver area.

It depends on how and where you hunt. I prefer to go early for my tree stand hunts. The elk have not changed their summer routines yet. Just a little later they may move to gather up cows and be less accessible.

I like to go early September. Hear less bugles then, but better success. Many come in silent
