Eastern Montana Whitetails

I "should" have enough points to draw an archery elk tag around the breaks this fall. Figured I might make a longer trip out of it, if I have time, and poke around for some whitetails. I realize this area of MT is more known for mulies, but with the Milk River and creek bottoms in that area I've seen some decent whitetails. Most of that land is private, but maybe enrolled in block management areas? Anyway, does anyone have any experience bow hunting whitetails in that area? Nearest town would be Glasgow.

FYI the whitetail were hit hard with EHD this past year in that very area, go to montana's website and you can read more about it. Might want to give it a couple years to recover and just hunt the elk etc.
