I'm a western hunting novice. Avid hunter from out East, recently moved to NM and drew an elk tag (and an archery deer tag, but that's on the back burner until after October). I need a good pack for my first of hopefully many Western DIY hunts. Any recommendations? Currently eyeing KUIU and Kifaru. Cheers y'all.

I always recommend the Seek Outside Revolution. Sturdy, easily configurable, easily accessible, lightweight, very comfortable.

Too many options to list out, will be about options and budget. Decide how much you want to spend and what is most important to you in options to make an educated decision.

Many good deals on used packs in the classifieds. When you see one on there you think you may want you need to jump quickly cause they won't last long. I would suggest deciding how many days you need to pack for then base your size off that. Then research all the main manufacturer's rigs in that size to give you a cost basis. Then look on the classifieds. Good luck.
