Elk ivory ideas

I have a few elk ivories that I've been keeping in a Ziploc bag from elk I've taken. Seems like a waste to continue to store them like that.
My wife or daughters wouldn't wear elk ivory jewelry so looking for alternate ideas. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Yeah the women in my life dont really want anything to do with them either. I’m not much help except nothing bad happens if you don’t take the ivories. Something for future hunts maybe.

I did two sets of cuff links from Sambar ivories.

One set when to a mate who took me to his secret spot and got me onto my first proper Sambar stag and one set to my Dad who was with me when we got my 2nd high country stag.

My son kulled
His bull at 12 years old. I wanted to find something to do with them that he would be interested in and last a long time. Do I had these knives made. Handles are from a buck I killed with his ivories in them.

Would your son consider wearing a good luck pendant when he’s hunting? A nice one with a simple leather lace for the necklace might interest him if the pendant is really nice. Google up elk ivory pendants. Look at this link and you might even find something your wife would wear.

I’ve been a whitetail bow hunter for 35 years but am a new elk hunter and just don’t understand why anyone pulls what they me looks like a tooth?

Curious to find out why and the history behind this practice.

Elk Ivories make some great looking necklaces for both men and women. I love the Arrowhead necklace shown above and I think I might just try and have one made for me. It looks fantastic!!

Earrings for women are really nice too. Maybe if you wife and girls saw just how nice they were, and there is not another pair just like that out there, maybe their minds would change. It's a meaningful gift too! Something dad killed and had made into a special gift for one of his ladies!!

I just got a ring made by a gal out in Idaho. It is sterling silver and was really reasonable. Much more so than all the gold ones I had been looking at for many years. Once I heard the name of her business I knew I had to make an order . Hammered in the Mountains



That’s the pic she sent earlier this week of the finished product. That’s an arrow wrapped around the band as I killed that bull with my longbow.

Elk ivories ain’t no whitetail teeth. They’re beautiful. Do a Google image search and you’ll see what I mean.

A old friend and jeweler cut these old cow ivory’s I had down and made nice set of earrings. I did not know how my wife would react or if she would wear them. She ended up loving them, maybe it’s the white gold and sapphires. They don’t get worn all that often, but when they get worn it’s all compliments to her and to the jewelers art work.
