EScouting for Sagebrush/Coulee Country Elk

Any tips on what features to look for when escouting in this type of country. Currently taking the Treeline Pursuit course, which is great, but it is geared toward more National Forest high country type features, or at least so far to where i am in the course. I’ll be hunting 5-7000 feet in sage brush, coulwe type country with some steep timber lined creek and river bottoms. It wasn’t my First choice for a tag but having a hunting with limited mobility he is mostly going to be road hunting.
