I use the 2000 for day hunts and its the perfect size. If you want to do some extra days i would get a bigger one.

ya just got a 2000 with a lid and the load panel. perfect for day hike/overnighter but i kinda wish i got a 3500 now as a do everything pack rather than have to buy a 5500 down the road. i get killed on the shipping so ill keep for now i think. really like the frame though loaded it up and strolled around feels really good. the ranger green looks sweet too.

I have a 2000 + lid, and am thinking about adding the horn hauler for when i need a little extra capacity. The 2000 is supposed to be about 2700 + lid (500 ish) + HH (1500). Cheaper and more versitile than getting a 5500. I day hunt most of the time and love the 2000. Thoughts?

I've often thought that would be a good setup. I've never heard of anyone trying it so if you do let us know how it works.

i thought about this but the horn hauler being $150 you might as well spend a little more and get a bigger bag. this doesnt include shipping but basically hhornhaluer $150+ lid $35 = $185. but if you spend 35 more bucks u get a 3500 that would come with a lid. or spend 85 more bucks and get $5500 that comes with a lid. The bags would probably be much easier to sell and keep their value down the road so better investment imo. or just run a dry bag in between the frame on the 2000. i got a 55L OR dry bag for 23$ on amazon thats what im going to run this summer if I need some extra room on some 2-3 night backpacking trips. if it doesnt work ill sell the 2000 and get a 3500 and run it from day hunts to 5 nighters

I basically had this same setup. I had the HH buckled into the side with the bag still attached, but just didn't like how the 2000 seems to be so narrow and found it difficult to get bulkier items in it. That's why I opted for the 5500, so I don't need to worry about that anymore. I still may buy a 2000 just to have.

I’ve been using my 3500 all spring for day trips and it’s been amazing. It’s always nice to have the extra space when needed!

Anyone have a 2000 pack and frame for sale, medium belt, any color.
I have an unused K2 frame and 2000 bag with a medium belt, and 2 belt pouches. It is ranger green in color and I would be willing to sell if you are interested. It has never left my gear room but I did remove the tags.

Awesome, I'm very interested. Do you have pictures of it and how much do you want for it?
