So, I got a message from Exo Mountain Gear on Instagram that I had won their random drawing for their knife giveaway. I followed all the requirements to be entered into the contest and I was randomly selected. But the message stated that I had to follow some link and make an account in order to “claim” my prize. I click this link and they want all my info including my credit card info to make an account for some sketchy streaming service. When I told Exo that I wasn’t going to put my credit card info in then they said I would not be the winner and they’d happily pick someone else. I declined to do it and haven’t heard from them since.

Turns out this is a scam going around, so if you get the notification DO NOT FILL IT OUT!

Its not EXO. They posted on their actual Instagram that there is a fake account acting like EXO. This is becoming more and more common. Report the account.

Good call on not entering any information.

Dang, I need to edit my thread then. I was pretty peeved that Exo would try to pull something like that but that makes more sense!

Watch the number of followers. EXO has 78,000, this account has less than 700 and 12 posts.

Jake with Exo here. We discovered this fake account on Friday and have been in the process of trying to get it removed. If you come across the fake account (@huntbackcountry_), please report it as it will help us out even more.

For clarification, our IG handle is @huntbackcountry, we don't have the added underscore or anything else. As for the knife giveaway, it is still going on and the winner will be drawn at the end of the month, but that message is not from us nor would we send a message like that.
