Anybody have a good reference for a taxidermist that can apply velvet to a mount that doesn’t look totally fake? Hoping to get it put on a euro mount of a buck I shot recently. 263F1056-1870-444F-9252-CF0A640CEF6E.jpeg

If you find someone who can make it not look fake, please let me know. It is usually too perfect and immediately appears rake.

I believe it is research manikins, it’s not cheap, it looks a little to perfect. But they do the best I’ve seen. I split the skull down the middle before shipping them. Cause that’s expensive also.

Interested in the same topic. I've seen some nice ones at DSC but it seems like everything Google returns immediately looks synthetic. Its like there is no wear/oils/veins/etc on most of the synthetic mounts which throws me off.
