Fall bear

I have a fall bear hunt planned in idaho this year. I will be going in off of Magruder between the bitteroot and the church. I am going second week of October. My big question is if the corridor will be open and what if anything I should count on for the drive. From what I have read it sounds like by November the road is very dangerous. Any bear hunting tips would be extra and appreciated. A big thank you ahead of time. I will do this one solo and bring my wife and son next year. (After ironing out the kinks)
