Hey guys, looking for recomendations for an outfitted 2024 fall wilderness black bear hunt. I'd be interested in CO, WY, or MT for states. I appreciate in advance any first person experiences fellas may have. Thank you in advance!
I also have a retired friend who is looking for a guided hunt... not so much for a specific location but a quality hunt. I was figuring Idaho and Maine could be big ones. Any outfitter suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd suggest hunting a state that allows dogs and/or baiting, which puts Colorado out. Spot and stalk is great but the other methods allow for selective take of a mature bear and can even be selective of color.
In my experience ID, UT, AZ, NM all seem to have more color phase bears than standard black. Hunting Maine and BC black was far and away the norm.
