Hit my new low this AM at 211.2. Leave for the Yukon a week from today and hope to be 209 heading in.

I’m a little concerned on what to eat on the mountain as it will he so different than what I eat on a daily basis. I’m afraid the freeze dried stuff will hit me harder now than in years past when my diet was worse.

Well I got a cast taken off my left leg after over 4 weeks yesterday. Tried to keep my diet manageable during that time but cardio was basically impossible. Also had a birthday in there...very bad few days of eating and drinking haha. Woke up early this morning and decided to hit the gym for some some easy rehab, I'll be going light this week. Every muscle in my left foot and lower leg hurts if I don't keep moving, guess that happens after its been immobile for 30 days. Anywho, didn't fall too far behind but with just over 2 months until CO 1R I have a lonnnnggg way to go in a short period of time. Will post back this Friday to resume normalcy.

Missed the weigh in last week but got on the scale today. Down .6 lbs from 2 weeks ago and 25.4 lbs total. For reference I'm 32, 5'9" and eating an average of 2200-2400 cals/day. Most days I'm closer to 2000-2100 cals, but some days kick my average over that. My old pal tendonitis has flared up above the elbow in my right arm after some longer bike rides, so I'm backing way off the weights leading up to season opener. Going to put some more time in running, walking with a pack, and stretching.

Another 2 lbs lost this week - feels good to hit my original goal. Have basically 10 weeks before leaving for CO. Doubt I can continue to keep up the 2 lbs a week drops for that whole time but do think 210-215 is achievable and a good goal.

Im going to join in on this as I feel like a visual will help me keep losing weight. Im 5'11' 23y/o 6/3/19 I was 213 in an ideal world 185 by next September but short term goal is ruck more just so I don't sweat as bad getting to the tree moderate lifting incorporated. In a year or more training will get more serious with western hunts being planned.

I started at 208 and am holding steady at 202 now. I need to get past the hump but the evening glass of wine or 2 seems to be too tempting these last few days.

Joining in here. Under 220 this am for the first time in a year, down from 234 in Jan. Training hard but diet has been crap for over a year. Have been doing a lot of bike things this summer. All my true friends have suckered me into events. One guy wanted to do a century, so started training for that in Jan and we decided to add the metric century the day after. Finished that in June. Another buddy suckered me into the Mount Washington NH bike hill climb, 10 days from now. 4700 feet of climb in 7.6 miles. so have been doing hill repeats here in Tulsa ad-nauseum. Last night almost hit 3000 feet of climb on a 175 foot hill, so a lot of repeats. Then Labor day weekend I have a 50 mile mountain bike race with my brother. I've done it 4 times but last time was in 2012 and I was in the low 190's. Should be fun???. Thankfully we are elk hunting the last week of the season so I have time to get some weighted pack hikes. I have done a couple(on the same hill mentioned above) and feel like I am in good shape for my weight, but it was different. More glutes than quads for sure. Hopefully I can survive the next month.

Down 27 lbs total and 1.6 from last week. Did a 5 mile hike with 35 lbs in my pack Saturday morning and felt great. Just under 4 weeks until I head to Montana for archery elk. I'm backing off the weights even further and putting more time behind the bow until then, mostly due to time constraints. Will keep up with cardio workouts - running, biking, and weighted pack hikes.

I stalled out pretty hard in May/June on the weight loss side but just did some math... 27 lbs in 23 weeks is still 1.17 lbs/week. I know a few guys on here are running an even better average than that. I guess for the people feeling like they are "plateaued" or even gained a lb or two one week, stay the course. If you do your part and stay consistent the lbs will come off.

Been away from this for a few weeks. Just spent a week in Florida fishing, AKA Drinking on the boat, put on 5 pounds. Weighed 195 this morning. I'll get back down to 190 shortly. 46 days til we leave for ID.

Sitting here in Whitehorse this AM. No scale near me and a solid breakfast on the way. I ran into Greg McHale when I arrived yesterday, which considering he is 6’ tall and weighs 157# really has me wishing I started getting ready for this sheep hunt about a year earlier! Good luck to all on their journey.

I’m heading out with MacMillan River. I’ll certainly post how it turns out. Hopefully the knee holds up as well as my determination.

Been slacking off on posting the last couple months. Currently 192.8, up a little from 191 back in May. On the plus side however, I'm definitley getting better with my running, and knocking back better and better times across all distances so far. I'm into my 10th week of an ultra running training program and seeing real results! Now it's time to start working on upper body more on my off days.

Man this is impressive. 50 plus pounds in 5 months shows a lot of dedication to shedding weight. Bravo, keep up the good work.

Thanks - it has been a lot of work and it showed me with proper motivation getting into better shape isn't so tough.

Up a little this week. I think I know why... I ate like crap friday and saturday, then made the 4 hour drive saturday night so I could wake up in MT sunday morning and scout for elk. Road trip food, hiking snacks, more road trip food. Things should correct for next week. On the upside, elk were spotted!! Less than 3 weeks til season opens.
