I’m checking in just to see how everyone is doing. I haven’t been home for over a week and won’t be till probably friday night. I’ve had some really good diet days and a couple of sketchy ones. I’ll know how I did and post it next Monday if I make it to the scale. Keep pushing, everyone.

@Ariettabob The silver lake wilderness may not be SW CO, but it's still a tough walk in November. All this prep will pay off for that as well.
Chris, I noticed your “a fix back East” location. Have you hunted the Silver Lake area? I’m in there every Friday night thru Sunday night, plus any days I can escape from my business thru the 9 week season. You’re right, I should do much better this season. I was admittedly tired on some of our longer hunts last year which, along with booking a 2020 sheep hunt, prompted this change in diet, gym routine and general mentality.

I'm hanging on the edge of the wagon right now, trying not to fall off. I haven't missed any workouts and have even been getting a ~4 mile run in on the weekends but my diet has to be where it's at. It's fishing season now so any big chunks of free time are spent in the boat with my wife and kids trying to find walleyes. That's really cutting in to my hiking miles, but the memories and the walleye fillets are worth it.

👍
194 is quite a nice drop. You mentioned somewhere back about 10% body fat. How are you going about that calculation? I’m sure I’d still be disappointed with my results at this point but I’d be interested in knowing what work I have left. I’m convinced that body fat % is our best indicator.

I know what I weighed at 23% ( from a testing machine) and just doing the math, it's a rough idea but should be close. At my age I am really not putting on much muscle mass, not enough T. I finished dropping the last of the processed foods recently and now am 95% natural foods. Following Dolce principles for nutrition. It took 6 months to gradually change my food choices and dump almost everything not natural. Very happy with my nutrition now and I believe it is easily sustainable.

5/3 - 212.5

6/12 - 212.1

Looks like a bit of a holding pattern. I was about 228 when I changed to a low-carb diet. 12lbs to go in three months. Totally doable, even if I have to suck weight like a HS wrestler.

I'm going to join in on this. The Utah Archery Hunts start Mid August. I am currently at 265 lbs. I am a fat guy for sure. At 5'11" i need to lose so pounds. My goal is that by the start of the hunts to be 230 lbs. 35lbs in 2 months. I hope to be able to do this.
My goal is to start running 2 times a week and Ruck 3 miles 4 days a week with 50lbs on my back. I am lucky to live in the hills of Utah and in 3 miles I can gain 700 feet of elevation. On top of this all I am using Mtn Ops supplements to help with my diet.

I can understand that. I guess I was looking for the “easy” button, a website where I could just plug in measurements. I’ll have to look up Dolce principals tonight. Right now is easily the cleanest my diet has ever been, and will stay that way as long as I have venison, fresh fish, a garden and a local vegetable stand. Happily my GF eats probably 90% the same as I do and I’ve been able to convince her I don’t mind eating my meal while she heats up a frozen pizza or some other comfort(to her) food.

Dolce: Eat all natural foods. Eat every 2-4 hours based on what you have done and what your going to do. Eat to satisfied not full. Be accountable, caloric deficit from exercise not deprivation.

The complete nutrition stores have a machine for measuring muscle mass and body fat levels.....some gyms do also.

4/1 226.5
4/8 223.9
4/15 221
4/22 220
5/6 216.9
5/13 217.3👎
5/20 214.7
5/27 213.9
6/3 213.7
6/10 no weigh in
6/16 211.5

Got home from the road, headed out again today so the weigh in is a day early, but I was pleasantly surprised. The road is so hard for me. Restaurants cater mostly to fat guys. It’s damn hard to get veggies as now fries or mashed are the norm at most places. Even when I can get veggies their serving is about a tablespoon full. I end up most nights sitting in the hotel with a low carb wrap and plain turkey breast with a supermarket salad. It’s totally worth it tho.
