I have a 300 saum that is by far my favorite. And I have many second places Contenders. I can’t decide. Some are worth a lot more than that rem 700. I’m guilty Of having gundawear
The 280 and 280AI are becoming very popular. I think a lot of folks are appreciating a non magnum round for hunting that are as capable as those two are. Plus the last ten years or so have seen a lot of fantastic bullet options coming out which are kind of revitalizing some older calibers.

Hard to argue with that. I love the ol' winny. I'll add the 300 AAC and 300 WSM on either side of it to cover varmint and magnum needs. I think of it as the modern day Teddy Roosevelt arsenal--the updated 30-30 and 30.06 respectively.

I struggle to see anything in NA I wouldn’t hunt with a 270win. Maybe if I was going after big bears I’d jump up to my 300win mag. The 270win with 130 accubonds or 150gr partitions has worked fine for me on everything from antelope to Alaskan moose.

Does that mean I don’t have and use other calibers? Hell no! Always playing around with other rifles and cartridges. And building a 280ai right now...but doubt it will do anything different than the 270win for the ranges I care about. (0-600yds).

I ended up with a 300 wsm and a 270, both 70's
Want to add a 25-06 and a big bore (375) when the time comes. So 4 rifles.

It seems like every caliber between 25-06 to 338 win mag is listed so far. Except 264 win mag. Why doesn't anyone use this caliber?

The good old .264WM is a good caliber. I think the issue is most folks are now going with 26 Nosler or 6.5RPM or one of the other modern 6.5 variants. Possibly to avoid reloading a belted cartridge or just because they're the new thing. Can't go wrong with it though, thats for sure.

My favorite caliber is .280 Rem, I have one in a Remington M700 mountain rifle. Love the caliber, the gun is just okay. My favorite gun is my Hells Canyon Speed in .270 Win. I wish a 280 Rem was offered in a Hells canyon platform.
