With our son in college and working, he hasn't got to join us much the last few seasons. Was super happy he made it out for a few days of deer hunting this year. All 3 of us together makes for my happiest days. The laughter is non stop, amazing we can still fill tags.

The afternoon before opening day I was scouting & ran across a bachelor group of 9 legal bulls & was able to follow & watch them for about an hour. The pic sucks cause it was zoomed up on my phone (and a few are out of frame). It was a very cool experience though, just wish I'd had a good video camera with me.

Lost my daughter in March. Canceled all my hunting plans for the year until my best friend came to stay for a few days back in May and talked me into coming out to moose hunt. Decided to go solo; or just me and my daughter depending how you want to look at it. Had vibrant pink sunsets and sunrises every single day for 9 days. I carry this smooth pink rock in my pocket every day. Minutes before this picture, a raven flew over really low and clucked several times and after that was the only time in my life I've experienced complete silence. Not a bird, breeze, beaver, or moose. Absolutely not a sound for several minutes.

This year was an excellent one for me! Was lucky enough to have my dad and brother join me for elk archery season for the first time! We were unsuccessful on elk but I did get to fill my first bear tag! Time spent in the woods with the people you care about is the best time spent!

My friends first whitetail ever, second deer ever, and off of land he bought this summer. And a curious mulie that posed for a selfie. Then my Dad’s ashes on the antler of my moose this fall.

It’s the worst selfie I have ever taken and took it just for my sister’s request. My dad and I with my Utah General Muzzleloader buck in the background. It was bright and about 20 degrees that morning. I was boiling after dragging him down the mountain about 400 yards to get back to where I left my dad. Took everything but my base layer off right after this picture and stayed like that all day.

Found/rescued a kid from St George later that morning. He was fine, found him walking the road back to his camp. His dad and uncle, cousins, etc were in way worse shape worrying about him.

It was the first western hunt he has come with me on. Wasn’t the longest hunt, but was a good trip.
