FFP 101 Question

My Mark 5HD arrives today and it will be my 1st FFP Scope.

Question: if I’m in a pinch can I zoom in and use the hash marks on the MOA reticle for my drop vs twisting the turret? I can envision a scenario of a buck trailing a doe and only have a couple seconds to shoot while he stops.

Do y’all prefer to dial in a hunting scenario or use the hash marks?

The primary advantage of FFP is that the hash marks are the same MOA/MIL at all magnifications. I don't use FFP, so I choose to dial when the situation calls for it.

Thank you. I was thinking of a scenario where a buck pops out into field and zooming in would help settle cross hairs on target.
