Been hunting Sonora Mx for the past 6 years with various outfitters. Seen a few 160s type deer but never the quality of deer you’d expect out of the “promised land”.

Last year we happened into a very good family with some good country. Put together for a trip of a lifetime this year! We laid down some solid deer and made some memories that’ll last forever. If you haven’t ventured out to old Mexico yet, I encourage you to turn off CNN and get down there. Some of the best country and best people I’ve ever met.

Our group of 6 hunted 4 trucks, two father/son groups shared pickups. Left ol Mexico with a 201, 191, 190, 32” wide 190s, a 172” management, no nut cull, and a 109 Coues!

One guy missed a low 200s and another wounded a mid 180s also!

Place has great Coues, killed these this year. I had an opportunity on a 115-120. They kill some 130s and 140s

Whoa!!! Awesome scenery pictures!! How did you guys end up finding and killing them? Looks pretty thick but with some decent mountain vantages around!
Just drive, drive, and drive some more. Hope to catch them crossing a opening or road. Hunt the areas where you know the big ones live. Some places have larger hills in the middle of flat ground that people will glass from most all day. That’s the exciting part about Sonora. You may not see much at times, but you know you’re amongst monsters and you never know which corner they’re gonna be behind. It usually happens quick, go from zero to hero.

I killed my at 11AM on the way back to camp on day 8. Sleeping in the thickest brush, could barely make out his horns. Guessed where his body was and sent the 212 grain ELdX through the brush.

It’s not an outfitter, we are just hunting with the family that owns the place/helping them book hunters. This year was $7500 and next year is $10,500 as they are wanting to add another 40 feed stations, add some more roads, and add on to the camp. Most places are 15k-17k right now for a legit outfit. Some more, some less.

Phenomenal! I have hunted old mexico for Goulds turkeys and agree with you that it is truly awesome country with awesome people. I dream of someday going to Sonora for a muley/couse combo but just dont know if it will ever be in the cards. Congrats on everything, a special hunt for sure.

Great deer you guys got, I would love to hunt down there but can't afford the cost, to close to retirement, really enjoyed the pics. You guys were blessed for sure.
