Over the weekend, I finished my arrows for the upcoming season. I ordered a dozen mahogany shafts from Kevin Forrester and he threw in four aspen shafts for me to try out.

Here they are with the nock and point tapers on them.

I then spent a few days flame cresting them.

I love the grain of the mahogany so I used a light stain to bring it out.

Then the fun part began, painting the shafts. I used to do this myself but my wife had so much fun helping me last year that I let her do it all this year. She did a phenomenal job!

It took a few more days, and several coats of polyurethane, to get them sealed to my satisfaction.

Then another couple days fletching them.

And now I have the finished product. 190 grain field points and 190 grain Meathead broadheads. The average arrow weight is around 660 grains. Come on September 15th!
