Real work starting up Friday night, preparing for the first load out yesterday, my first load was a bone-in hind quarter and my second load was the other hind quarter and a deboned shoulder (loaded it on there as best I could, didn’t shift or feel off-balance but could have been better I’m sure)

Congrats! Question for you: What is the benefit of hunting where you are downhill from the truck?

NCstate, how does it feel to be the envy of 20,000 (give or take) 1st season CO OTC hunters? Way to go, thanks for posting.

It sucks packing uphill rather than down lol. Just my opinion that less people will hunt down from the truck rather than up, so in an area with lots of ATV’s and supposed pressure (I was expecting way worse and I hardly saw anyone, even parked along the forest service road, so no clue where they were hunting) I just guessed it would lead to less pressure.

I’m still in shock to be honest, I told my wife while driving back to our camper after making the last haul out this morning “I can’t believe I killed a bull, let alone a busted up 6x6”.

Congrats! I killed my first bull this year too, so I’m still feeling the exhilaration with you!

Me too! I put in so much work the last couple of years that I wake up every morning and still can't believe it happened. He's hanging in a friends cooler right now...I have to butcher this weekend. Isn't it the greatest, surreal feeling, when it all comes together?
