Drew a leftover cow elk tag in wyoming. Never hunted elk before but have hunted out west a number of times. Was wondering what kind of tips you could give me for finding/hunting cow elk for a first time elk hunter.

Specifically what time of year to go?

Where to concentrate glassing? (North facing slopes?)

If your willing to share which unit or which part of the state you will be in it would help with good advice.

What WyoElk said. Some areas are better late season hunting when they move to wintering ground.
PM with your area would be best.

Unit 7 in Wyoming. There a fair number of hunter management areas in that unit that has my interest. Anyone have experience with them?

Where should I be concentrating on glassing open hill sides? North facing slopes? Or should I be in the timber more?
