Fixed Pin or Moveable, 1st Time Elk Hunter

5 pin fixed for me. When I was lying to myself about target panic, I used pin clutter as the excuse for a single pin. Once I nipped the target panic issue in the bud, I’ll never shoot a single pin hunting again. The bull I killed this past year came in from a direction I wasn’t expecting. He was somewhere between 35 and 45 yards. I did not have time to range him. Guessing him for 40 and having an actual pin takes one more guess out of the equation that I would have also had to make if a single pin was set to 25 or 30 yards.

I pinwheeled him and watched him die. To this day, I still don’t know how far he actually was.
