Fixed power spotting scopes

I just got a kowa 774 with wide zoom. Compared to the 602 with 30x wide...pretty similar image quality at comparable power to be honest. But the 774 goes up to 60x which is obviously a huge advantage. And it looks amazing all the way up to 60x. But if a guy just needed a scope for 1mile and in kinda stuff, and didn’t want to spend $$$$, I think a fixed would outperform a zoom when it comes to looking for animals in a cheaper spotter.
