I know it isn't really an apples to apples comparison but I'm curious to hear your thoughts if you have both. I have the Halstead, I like it ok but it generates an enormous static electricity discharge when removing it from over a merino base layer. I also feel like it is sort of in no-man's-land as far as an insulating piece.

Is the weight penalty too much with the Sawtooth to take backpack hunting? I always bring my Uncompahgre and Chama (upgrading to a Kiln hoody this year hopefully) so I'm wondering if it's redundant.

Klamath is a Halstead with a hood in my mind. The Sawtooth doesn’t pack down well but provides more warmth than the Klamath but nothing like my uncompahgre. Sawtooth is a good early season piece. I use all three but way different uses for all them

To me, the Sawtooth is a quirky piece I just can't seem to find a place for it in my kit. I prefer the Klamath over a merino base layer, then the Uncompagre, (if needed) then outer shell.
