What distance do you put the wings from the nock?

I do it as close as I can. It’s about 1/4” from the end of the carbon

Far enough that they won’t touch my chinny chin chin whatever that might be I’d have to measure. Little further than average.

I use the second big mark on a bitz. I think it's about 1.25" from the throat of the nock.

I have put them closer but it tends to get into my beard hair.

You want it just far enough forward where the fletching won't contact your face. The further back the better but don't worry too much... you won't notice much difference.

I agree with this. Ended up at 1-9/16". I had to move mine farther forward than I wanted to eliminate contact with my face. Groups and arrow flight improved as a result.

Lately I’ve been sticking them 1” from nock throat. Realized they farther back than factory fletched arrows.
