So you're drifting down a river (anywhere) looking for game and campsites...might was well fish on the way right? Let's sww how you rigged your packraft for drift-fishing.

I’ve never rigged my raft for fishing, just pull over to a spot and fish a hole for a bit. I’ve tried fishing off the raft before and the wind always seems to sort of spin it so I end up just stopping to fish.

That being said, I’ve had some excellent pack raft trips just for fishing, big rainbows, grayling, char and pike with my fly rod. Hoping to get out for at least one or 2 more raft fishing trips before winter starts setting in up here now that hunting season is wrapped up.

+1 for stopping to fish good looking spots. Very difficult to fish while navigating a river solo unless it is a huge wide slow river with no obstacles anywhere. Not having hands on oars or paddle you would probably get frustrated by spinning in circles and running into shore, or worse if there are rocks and rapids.
