Fly fishing near Buhl, Id

I’m driving to Buhl to pick up a WPG next weekend and want to do a little winter fly fishing for a couple days. Anyone have any suggestions? I want to stay close to Buhl so I can get up early Sunday, grab the dog, and head back to Lewiston at a reasonable time. Any help is appreciated.

There’s some giant browns caught this time of year below the American falls dam on the snake by the hatchery. Any perch pattern streamer or a white streamer down near the bottom will get the job done. Be ready for 25+ inch fish.

Billingsly creek is near

Billingsley Creek is a good spot. I grew up in that area and always preferred the Malad right where it dumps into the Snake. Not big fish but a lot of them. Theyre also pretty apt to take a fly.
Did you get your WPG from Snake River Griffons? I have one of theirs, she's a knucklehead but an absolutely great dog.
