FNG from NE Kansas

Hello all, Larry here from KC. Primarily a mule deer hunter in Western KS and unsuccessful elk hunter in CO (so far). This will be my 4th year hunting elk in CO and I’ve yet to be successful. I've previously hunted OTC 3rd rifle in Montrose in 2017, OTC archery in unit 78 around Pagosa Springs in 2018, and OTC 2nd rifle last year in 55 North of Gunnison. This year I drew and EE archery tag in unit 20 and looking forward to the challenge. My son and I went out and scouted a week in June and hung a few trail cameras and I'll probably run back out there before seasons starts to pull them and figure out a game plan. My weapons of choice are my new Savage Ultralite in 6.5 PRC and Hoyt RX1

Sounds like a plan Jeff, I have 4 antelope points that I need to cash in at some point and could definitely use the help. What zone are you in for mulies, east or west? I typically hunt the west.

I’m at Fort Leavenworth, but had to CANX all of the tags I drew because of garrison restrictions. There are a lot of NE Kansas guys here, best of luck this season!

Probably not in 20 years or more, too cheap to buy the permit and I'm also a member at Tri-County Rod & Gun Club. If I'm not shooting in my back yard I go out there for >30-80yd practice and shooting my guns out to 200yds. I love to shoot long range also and just joined the Great Plains Gun range down in Ottawa but they're strictly rifles at this point. Good to meet you too sir.
