FNG from SW Ohio

I've been lurking here for a few months, so figured I'd finally join.

Eastern whitetail hunter for as long as I've been hunting. Started in NW PA, and then have been trying to figure out public SW OH for the last few years. Tagged my biggest buck this last fall.

Maybe it's just being locked up and dreaming of a new adventure, but I'm trying to plan how to go out west and hunt elk. This site has been a great resource for browsing, thank you all for contributing.

Two encounters, got a shot both times and hit a stick both times. Overall a great experience, looking forward to another trip this year

I'd certainly be excited with two encounters. I'm more or less expecting my first time out to be a glorified camping trip. That's a big bummer about the sticks though. Hopefully you have better luck next time

Welcome jte, I lived in Middletown for quite a few years. There weren't any deer in SW Ohio in the 60's and 70's. Use to quail and rabbit hunt in Brown County.

Thanks Northernpiker, I'm just a little bit south of Middletown. I was beginning to think there weren't any deer on public here before this year when I think I finally found some decent spots.
