Hey everyone,

I have been a casual reader of rokslide for some time, but never registered, as I did not hunt the western states. Great to be on here now.

I grew up primarily hunting waterfowl, turkey, and quail with my family. However, I had some great friends in college give me the whitetail / big game bug a few years ago. As I get ready for my first western hunt in 2026, I am excited to learn from everyone on here. Sorry in advance for any FNG tendencies, I will do my best to not ask all the dumb questions... Please reach out if you feel I can help with anything

Cheers,
TMac

Hey I'm in Stephenville area....
There ya go. I've been wanting to check out the new Gravestone shooting your range out your way in Lipan. Seems like an awesome facility. You checked it out?

I have not.. I just shoot at the house.

Ya its funny how a rocky desert and the rocky mountains can be so different yet equally beautiful.
Thats right! It's all the good lord's work.

Are you able to deer hunt on your land? I make the drive down to Brady for most of my hunting.

Welcome aboard from SE Texas, Richmond. I spend a fair amount of time in your world with family in Weatherford and Arlington.

Thank you. That's good stuff! Just don't venture too far east when you're up here (joking for my dallas county friends)... Tarrant and parker counties sure do have a lot going on in terms of development these days. It is not the same Fort Worth where I grew up.
