welcome to Oregon! I haven't had much trouble with mesquitos during deer or elk seasons-They can be a pain certain times of years around the high lakes. Remember that in western Oregon we get around 48" of rain a year-most times we have a dry September, but Ive seen 3" of rain for opening weekend of deer rifle season the beginning of Oct.

Thanks bucko. Really helps narrow the decision down to the tarptent motrail. I can always take the mesh liner out during better times of the year plus have the beneifit of just using the liner as a ground cloth in good weather no mesquito months.

it can really vary from area to area. I have places that I won't hunt during first season archery cause the skeeters are so freaking bad, only hunt them during second season when its cold out. Other places makes no difference at all
