I was looking at getting a new pack and was wondering what color guys are using. I was looking at the mystery ranch and the two color options are foliage and the tan color. Is there any benefits or drawbacks to those colors? I like them both so I really don’t care.

According to MR, they say tan is better out west and foliage is better in greener wooded areas. I just got the Sawtooth in foliage and I think it would be fine out west.

I personally don't like tan colored packs elk or deer hunting. More about other hunters on public land then the animals. I would go with the foliage color, for that reason alone.

I went with foliage for the simple fact that it does not look like an elk or deer. I try to reduce my odds of being shot at whenever possible.

It really doesn't matter. Hadn't heard the less chance of getting shot at theory. I'm partial to the greens just for travelling purposes. The more I can lay low and look like a backpacker when cruising thru airports and whatnot the better imo.
