This might sound stupid, and I'm sure there is an easy answer... I hunt the same area every year of Colorado, it's an ATV area, and I'm trying to figure out what areas are and aren't foot traffic only. Is there a map, or easy explanation for this?
It would be easy to explain, except for those who take ohvs where they are not allowed. USFS MVUM maps are a good source of motorized travel routes and closures on Nat'l Forests in CO.
Find the USDA-Forest Service page for the area and look for the MVUM map - that will show what trails/roads are limited to what traffic. It will also designate if non-trail areas are open to motorized use. Identify the trail and go to the legend and it will be clear. When in doubt - call the local ranger district and verify (good idea regardless as due to fires and weather some areas may be seasonally/temporarily restricted).
