He had a ND into the ground at the firing line. Pulled charging handle, ejected round, chambered live round then dropped magazine. Booger hook on the trigger to release the hammer firing the round.

And when clearing a semi auto it’s better to drop the mag then rack slide, vs rack slide then drop mag.
