I like the Helikon Tex tarp for this. I bought one from Poland. 3mx3m (almost 10x10) with sewn guyouts all around and across the center. Weighs only 1.5lbs. Not a poly tarp. But not thin silnylon either. Good for backpacking/hunting. I find anything smaller than 9x9 exposes my 6'3" frame and gear to driving rain. Or I use it as living area outside my tent.
