Yup, you just inspired me. As I was sitting here thinking about sucking air this year in X9a and how I needed to lose about 30#, I came across this thread. I too am from Mo Town, and am starting to layout my plan for my journey. I am 40, work a lot, and have kids, but so do you, no excuses now!! Thanks

So last year i was in shape and hit it hard but still ate tag soup. I stayed after it all year , hard and was able to backpack in close to 4 miles at 9500 ft for 3 days. I arrowed a buck opening evening here in CA . All the running , lifting and getting prepared for train to hunt was such a blessing and only reason i was able to go were I went. Heres some pics and yes 100 something pounds in your pack still sucks even though its real meat. I opted to take my Kelty RedCloud 90 (purchased used from Rokslider )over my Kuiu Ultra , this pack did well with the weight and was just as if not more comfy than my Ultra i used at Train to hunt.

Do you have a weekly meal plan you used for weight loss you could post? Thanks

I dont have a meal plan , im constantly switching it up. I meal prep all my meals on my sunday. Everything ive learned is from trial and error and researching clean eating . Find out the foods with bad carbs and cut them out. Ive totally changed my life since i posted this 2 years ago. Im still running 3 or 4 days a week and lifting 5 days , im a healthy 190 lbs right now

He came home yesterday. You may say this bucks small why mount him. This buck is the first success since starting my journey. I worked my ass off for this buck .

Not just the hike in and off the mountain but all the prep work began when I ate tag soup the prior year and worked just as hard. Every time i look at this buck ill be reminded of what it takes , for me , to be successful. Why I wake at 4:30 on my days off to lift or cardio and why i work 12 or 13 hours then still train.

Sure id rather killed a more mature buck , But my ultimate goal was achieved and this guy was the culmination of hard work and dedication . He has memories that will last a lifetime.
