First post on here but have been reading for quite a while. Myself and 3 other friends are going to go Archery Elk the last week of Sept in GMU 211, CO. We have access to private land and was hoping for a little insight to the area around Meeker. I've looked at satellite and google earth and it seems as though it is a pinon juniper and oak brush area. Any special advice for this for us. I've heard that there may not be many elk in there until weather pushes them to lower elevations but I've also heard that there could be some on private land. Trying to gather as much info as I can to be prepared for what we might encounter and what we might need to do for a game plan. Thanks in advance for any information.

We will definitely do that, could be a back up plan too in case elk tenderloins don't make the menu for us that week.

Decent fishing in the White river too. Might as well get the fishing license.
