Is there a better choice? Looking for a video/camera for vids and stills in the backcountry.

Ive been using a Hero2for over a year now, primarily for snowmachining and float hunts. I love it. For the size, ease of use and quality the GoPro's are hard to beat. The NEW GoPro's are sick. The remote and redesigned lens really up'd the ante. Less focal distortion, or fisheye with the new lens.

Agree with BitterRoot

i originally was looking at a Go pro but after discussing what i was looking at doing with an "expert" i was guided towards a Sony NEX 6. this is just a step down from a full DSLR but has the same quality. i am looking at getting back into doing photo Essays. Thought going with the go pro i could capture more stuff a little easier. However, with the wide angle and all it kind of makes you dizzy.

There is some good info on this camera and some stuff shot with it on Backpackerlight. Really outstanding stuff.
