Gohunt draw odds

Two things I have found lie to you about a unit...Draw odds (more points needed and worse odds do not mean bigger bucks or better hunt) and % of public land. I have hunted many easy draw/general with *limited public access and had great hunts and shot above average animals then listened to guys hunt famed units with public land for days but "we only say immature deer and had guys all around us" seemed to be the theme.
