Harder for your body to heat moist air. So high humidity makes you feel colder in a similar to sweating in the cold does when you stop moving. Both draw more heat away from your skin.

We are around the Tampa area for vacation and the 50 degrees and wind was bone chilling the last 2 days and I’m from WI and used to cold. Definitely the humidity has something to do with it. Every year we’ve been down here for Christmas it does this and when we leave it warms up to 80.

7-9” coming Tuesday night so I have that to look forward to when we get back home.

Anddd back up to the 70a again. That was quite a snap. I'm super FNG for back country but looking to do a basic camp out in Cherokee NC area from Charleston in a couple weeks hoping for a cold snap
